05 Jul 2025

9:45 AM to 12:00 PM

Respond to cherished family heirlooms, preserve and reimagine your family histories in a hands-on creative workshop facilitated by printmaker Elaine Camlin. The artistic process will bring together a range of media, starting with Gelli Plate impressions of found objects.

You will then be guided to respond to your heirloom with pencils, pen and paint to create a layered mixed media artwork. This artistic process fosters connections across generations and will explore threads of connection between personal narratives, historical artifacts and shared histories.

All abilities and experiences are welcome! This workshop is designed for adults.

Please bring a family heirloom or something that holds personal significance to respond to during the workshop.

Elaine is an experienced artist, art therapist and workshop facilitator who supports and guides participants to engage in enriching and skills-based activities. She has a keen interest in our connection to objects and nostalgia, and looks forward to hearing the stories beyond each heirloom.

Elaine has been working on an Orange Regional Museum Creative Collections project, responding to a nineteenth-century sewing basket. Her artwork will be on display in Orange Regional Museum's exhibition Inherit: old and new histories.
