Markets & Shopping

For decades, shops in Orange NSW have been considered the retail hub of the district, with multiple shopping centres and independent stores catering to all aspects of life for local residents. However thanks to increasingly sophisticated consumer tastes, the already robust Orange retail scene is now well and truly flourishing and has begun to attract shoppers from much further afield.

A haven for well curated homewares stores, clothing boutiques and specialty stores, visitors can also expect to find quality leather goods and saddlery, a skin shop and boot barn. A few high-end retailers have also formed collectives in the town, visitors can expect to find stunning florists, cafes and clothing boutiques all coexisting happily under the one roof.

For many, the fortnightly Orange Farmers Market remains the quintessential Orange experience and a must-do for both locals and visitors alike. Shop the flavours of the region directly from the producer, and choose from an array of high quality artisan baked goods, preserves, wines, small goods and so much more. More than a market, it is also a fortnightly catch up for farmers, small business owners, families and friends to talk about and celebrate the regions’ bounty.

If you miss the Farmers Market never fear, visitors who want to stock up on local produce will not be left short of options thanks to a number of specialty grocers around town.

However Orange is not the only town with thriving retail. Millthorpe NSW too, has an impressive selection of charming boutiques and gift shops, and a highly popular twice yearly market. Carcoar NSW also attracts visitors seeking sophisticated retail and good coffee. Blayney NSW also offers a repertoire of artisan goods and local produce.
