Little places, Big stories: Cumnock

Little places, Big stories

Rich in sporting and community culture, Cumnock is now firmly on the map with the Animals on Bikes Paddock Art Trail; over 100 sculptures along 120km between Molong and Dubbo Zoo, via Cumnock  and Yeoval. The rolling hills surrounding Cumnock are well regarded for sheep and wool production, cattle and grain.

Rhonda Watt, creator of 'Hot Rod Henny' Animals on Bikes.

Rhonda fell in love with a gorgeous local man and married and moved to Cumnock in 1985. Together they have two beautiful daughters and live on a farm, 22km's south west of Cumnock, where they grow prime lamb and love the farming and community life.

Over the years Rhonda has served as President of Cumnock Village Preschool, President of Cumnock Public School, Secretary of Cumnock & District Progress Association, been a member of Cumnock Show for 34 years and now runs the show luncheon section each year. She has also been a member of the Cumnock Fire brigade and the beautification committee painting poles with happy smiling faces.

Helping in the community is what she does. Rhonda helps drive many Cumnock projects and improvements and loves to see Cumnock not only survive but thrive and improve. She often helps other community groups with funding applications and loves to see their successes! She is passionate about the region, its volunteers and works closely with Cabonne Council on issues within the village and wider district. She also has no hesitation in fighting for what is right.

Rhonda is a friendly, happy and easy-going person. She loves gardening, theatre, music and her love of singing has seen her as the front woman for many bands. "Give me a glass of wine and a conversation with those I love, and I am happy" I enjoy the simple things in life for sure!
