The 2017 growing season was warm and dry. The spring rains set up the season and good rains in January allowed very good flavour development whilst maintaining natural acid. The vintage was a couple of weeks ahead of the typical. The hottest day for summer was 35.6°C. The fruit is from a range of blocks at Koomooloo. The grapes were handpicked early in the morning, chilled and whole bunch pressed (1200L basket press) to tank to remove heavy solids. The juice was racked to barrel later the same day.

Deep red colour.

Strong intense complex aromas showing great depth of fruit with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cab Franc dominating the characters but the shiraz helps support the edge on the strong fruit characters and soften the texture of the palate. The oak adds complexity and with the shiraz give a very complete very interesting wine. PS
