A slow travel, slow food odyssey by train from Sydney to Orange for the first weekend of the annual Orange Food Week Festival, Friday 27 to Sunday 29 March 2020.
An emphasis on organic and biodynamic food and wine experiences during the local Autumn harvest and vintage, The Provenance Express is a three-day hosted tour with a carefully curated and hand-selected itinerary. Hosted by locals, this is the ideal way to discover the cool-climate Orange wine region of New South Wales – one of Australia’s hottest food and wine destinations.
Highlights include: on board food and wine tastings with local vigneron and producer; Welcome Lunch on a vineyard; boutique shopping; Festival Night Market; Cook Park breakfast picnic; day tour to Canowindra, premium organic district within the region – including tour of organic fig and olive farm/vineyard with product tastings, as well as a long table lunch on a biodynamic vineyard with a strawbale winery. Festival dinner event featuring local and organic produce; Sparkling Sunday breakfast; guided tour of a native edibles garden; visit to a boutique pop-up design store; visit to local produce and farm store; vineyard ramble and vintage barrel-tasting followed by a three course Farewell lunch.
