Carcoar - Orange 360

Welcome to Carcoar

The picture-perfect village of Carcoar is nestled in a pretty valley beside the meandering Belubula River. Classified by the National Trust, Carcoar is a true historic gem and the third-oldest settlement in New South Wales west of the Blue Mountains.

The tiny village has an almost "untouched" feel, with many original preserved 19th-century buildings. A wonderful way to experience this unique village is on foot. Take a walking tour through the charming streets around the historic Court House, marvel at the Victorian buildings along the main street, St Paul's Anglican Church, and the 1849 convict-built stables of Stoke House. Carcoar has an astounding five museums, all of which bring to life the stories of early settlement in the area.

Carcoar is a popular destination for weekend getaways.  The small town offers a small but sophisticated shopping experience, with well-curated homewares stores alongside vintage wares and handmade pottery. The town has various accommodation options, from restored heritage buildings to charming farm homestead B&Bs to the country pub. You can choose to dine at the pub and café or enjoy a picnic on the banks of the Belubula River in Kurt Fearnley Park.

Nearby, Carcoar Dam is a popular destination for fishing, camping, and waterskiing; picnics and BBQ facilities are available.
