Parks, Gardens & Reserves

Well-known for its abundance of European trees and superb autumn colour, it is no surprise that some of the prime Orange attractions are its spectacular gardens, parks and reserves.

Visitors to the town will find they are spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful parks and gardens. Discover enormous trees dating back to the 1880s towering over original century-old fountains, bandstands and conservatories; contemporary gardens with varied landscapes of orchards, billabongs and woodlands that tell a story of the region’s past and present; an elegant park with formal Victorian-style gardens that pay homage to the town’s fallen war heroes or take a walk along a poplar-lined creek filled with ducks and reeds.

Outside of Orange you will find a rich diversity of landscape including box woodland, open farm country, dams and reservoirs, pine plantations, cave systems, picturesque waterways and eucalypt forests. Find a wealth of public reserves well-facilitated with picnic and BBQ areas as well as public amenities.

Orange weather experiences four distinct seasons, and visitors will want to return time and again to experience the unique natural beauty each season has to offer.
