Orange wine tours are also a great option for your gastronomic and vinous journey. Have a local winemaker give you a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on behind cellar doors or for a completely immersive experience, let a boutique tour operator create you a bespoke itinerary.

Visitors won’t want to miss dining at a number of truly exceptional vineyard restaurants, or simply graze from generous platters of local produce between tastings.

Be sure to check what events may be on during your stay. There are many events at Orange wineries held throughout the year, both as part of the highly popular Orange Wine Festival but also held independently. Try a class at an on-site boutique cookery school, or a more opulent experience such as a mid-winter truffle hunt followed by a black-tie degustation feast.

Small Acres Cyder

Known for its unique, orchard to bottle hand crafted cider, multi award winning Small Acres Cyder can be found just 10 kilometres from Orange on the picturesque foothills of Mount Canobolas in Nashdale.

Visitors to the region can pay a visit to the Cider House to discover how traditional cider is made and taste a delicious range of ciders.

In the ten years since they launched the brand the team at Small Acres Cyder have over 130 industry awards including winner of Best Australian Cider 2013, Best Australian Perry 2016 and Most Successful Small Producer 2017 and 2018.

The cider house is open for guided tasting on weekends 11am - 4pm.

A range of local produce is available from the fridge for visitors to choose to create their own shared local produce board which can be eaten on site or taken to the nearby lake for a picnic.
