Modelled on legendary Australian poet Banjo Paterson's Akubra hat, the Big Hat is located in the Banjo Paterson Bush Park and across the road from the Banjo Paterson More Than a Poet Museum in Yeoval, between Parkes and Dubbo.

The sculpture stands as a tribute to his legacy. The Museum, houses a collection of memorabilia related to the poet's life and works. The park offers a serene environment with walking trails and picnic areas, making it a popular spot for both locals and visitors.
