The Orange City Art Mural Trail showcases a stunning collection of creative and ambitious public art installations around the city.
The Trail can commence within the Orange Cultural Precinct which includes Orange Regional Gallery, Orange Regional Museum and the soon-to-be-completed Orange Conservatorium and Planetarium.
The public art on display in the precinct includes Seed by the late Bronwyn Oliver, The Well by Richard Goodwin, and Senden Blackwood's Duo.
The adjacent Orange Civic Theatre features the visually striking Dancing with Bees by Zanny Begg and featuring young dancers from the Central West and highlighting local native bee species. It is a groundbreaking combination of visual arts, dance, and timekeeping with a dash of science.
Nearby is the charming Statue of Empathy, a gift to Orange City Council from Ushiku in Japan, honouring the ongoing Sister City relationship between Orange and Ushiku. The sculpture by Kunihiko Isshiki, is a replica of the statue outside the Central Life-long Learning Centre in Ushiku, where concerts, theatrical performances, movies, lectures and cultural events are held.
Across Byng Street, a walk through Robertson Park will reveal the golden spheres of Shadowline by Julia Davis and Lisa Jones. Positioned like push-pins on a map, the orbs trace the ancient path of Blackmans Swamp Creek through the heart of Orange.
