As the vibrant hues of autumn fade into the crisp embrace of winter, there's no better time to explore the natural beauty of Orange, NSW, and its surrounding villages via a two-wheeler and for cycling enthusiasts, Orange boasts an array of scenic routes that cater to every skill level.

Featured Road Routes:

Pinnacle Road: 24KM | 550m | 1hr

A beautiful loop that passes through vineyards, orchards and forests with stunning views of the Towac Valley to Mt Canobolas. The most ridden route in Orange. 

Gaanha Bula – Mt Canobolas: 36km | 907m | 1.75hrs

A stunning climb to the highest point west of the Blue Mountains through tall eucalypt forests leading to sweeping views of the Central West. 

Featured Gravel Routes:

Barry Roobaix trail: 106km | 1485m | 5hrs | 57% gravel

Glorious open gravel roads that run South of Millthorpe and take in beautiful historic Carcoar, before the tiny towns of Neville and Barry. 

Berrilee, Giles and Ginns: 44km | 615m | 2hrs | 59% gravel

Head into the forest and ride the fire trails before open farmland gravel roads on the way back to town.

Oranges and Villages Bicycle Trail: 360km | 2 to 6 days | Mixed Surface (Gravel & Bitumen)

Working its way around some of the most beautiful parts of the Central West and with Mt Canobolas (Gaanha-bula) at its centre, The Orange & Villages Bicycle Trail (OVBT) is a 360km bikepacking trail taking in most of the town and villages in the Orange Region. Developed by a local bike group, The Treadlies, the OVBT is divided into 6 sections and can be completed in 2 to 6 days. Expect over 4000m elevation gain and a mostly bitumen route with some gravel sections. The trail also includes alternate routes for some of the sections.

From vineyards to challenging mountain trails and outback gravel tracks, cyclists of all levels will find something to suit their preferences here in the Orange region.
